SVT makes changes in response to epidemic: All fares are donation-based starting March 30; drivers help deliver needed supplies, food to residents

March 24, 2020

Helping the community is what Snoqualmie Valley Transportation has always done, and now is no different. The bus company serving the Snoqualmie Valley is responding quickly to community needs during the current coronavirus/COVID 19 outbreak, with changes to its fare system, as well as routing to deliver essential supplies to local residents.

Starting Monday, March 30, all bus fares will be donation-based and no one will be refused a ride for inability to pay.

“We don’t want anybody to be unable to take the bus because of the fare,” said SVT Director Amy Biggs. “There are so many people out of work right now. We don’t want taking a bus to be an obstacle for anybody, so we’re following King County Metro’s example and going fare-free.”
